What We Offer

The Treasures of Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve...

Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve (BHWP) showcases an extraordinary diversity of plants native to Pennsylvania and the Body PhotoDelaware Valley region. The Preserve focuses exclusively on native plants, in distinction from botanical gardens that may include natives in their collections.

We care for and protect our native plant collection with the goal of encouraging the public to visit, enjoy and learn about the richness of Pennsylvania's natural heritage, so they, in turn, also will become stewards of the natural world.

The Preserve is an accredited member of the American Association of Museums, signifying that we operate according to the highest standards set forth by the profession and provide quality service to the public.

Here's a brief description of what we offer. Explore the website to find out more about the Preserve itself and to take advantage of our online native plant resources.

Walk among the Wildflowers
To fully appreciate the Preserve, we invite you to come visit. The Preserve offers you a place to walk in a peaceful, natural setting. Stroll along our winding trails and enjoy wildflowers, bird watching, quiet meditation, photography or simply appreciating the beauty of Pennsylvania native plants. Pause for a rest on a rustic bench or sit in a gazebo nestled among the tall trees of Penn's Woods. Meander through woodlands, meadow and streamside; perhaps you'll catch a glimpse of turtles and frogs in the pond.

The Preserve's 134-acre site features nearly 1000 species of Pennsylvania native trees, shrubs, ferns, vines and herbaceous perennial wildflowers. The collection includes more than 80 native species designated as Plants of Special Concern in Pennsylvania, including rare, endangered and threatened plants.

Visit often to see the ever-changing display through the seasons—we're open year-round!
