Visit our new Pond

New Pond Dedicated June 1, 2013
Our highly anticipated new pond is now a reality. After two years of careful planning and fundraising, we are thrilled to present this new feature to our visitors.
Located near our exit gate, the new pond breathes life into the Woods Edge Walk trail. Once an often overlooked corner of the Preserve, it is now a buzzing destination.
Details of the project include a new stone spring house and patio, small circular farm pond, rambling stream, and the large pond itself. The opportunities for educational programs, special events, wildlife habitat, and, of course, quiet reflection and beauty, are abundant.
Our official dedication took place on June 1, 2013. To celebrate the occasion, naturalists were on hand with close-up viewing of salamanders, toads and frogs. We also unveiled the winners of our "Hop to It!" kids' T-shirt design contest. The winning design is now available for purchase in our Twinleaf shop.
Be sure to linger pondside on your next visit to the Preserve!
