Native Plant Wreath Workshop

New Hope, Pennsylvania - Bring the outdoors in with a festive holiday wreath. In this workshop, you will make a wreath fashioned from fresh native plant materials. This traditional holiday greenery wreath will feature native material such as Eastern white pine, red cedar and American holly, accented with pinecones and a colorful fabric bow. The fresh evergreen scent and simple elegance of this wreath will complement any décor.

Step-by-step demonstration and hands-on instruction will ensure that you’ll create a beautiful and unique work of art to display during the holidays. The Preserve’s Executive Director, Miles Arnott, who previously taught popular craft classes at Callaway Gardens in Georgia as well as at the Preserve, will lead the workshop.

Due to the popularity of this workshop, it will be offered twice. This first workshop will be offered on Saturday, December 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. Pre-registration with payment is required by Friday, December 8.

The same workshop will be repeated on Sunday, December 11, from 10 a.m. to noon. Pre-registration with payment for this workshop also is required byFriday, December 8.

Fees are $42 for non-members and $38 for Preserve members, including all materials. To pre-register, please call the Preserve at (215) 862-2924. Space is limited, so register early.

The workshop meets at Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve Visitor Center, 1635 River Road (PA Route 32), 2.5 miles south of New Hope, Pennsylvania and convenient to I-95. For more information and directions, call the Preserve at (215) 862-2924 or visit www.bhwp.org.

Before or after the workshop, explore the Visitor Center and the outdoor trails. In the Visitor Center, you can watch birds from the comfort of indoors, enjoy wildflower videos and exhibits, pick-up free information sheets about gardening with native plants and peruse books in the Preserve’s library. The Visitor Center also is home to the Platt Museum of mounted birds, nests and eggs, and the Twinleaf Shop, where nature-themed books, for adults and for children, and t-shirts can be purchased.

The Preserve is open seven days a week year-round (Closed Thanksgiving day, Christmas day and New Year’s day). The Visitor Center is open daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and the grounds are open from 8:30 a.m. – sunset.
