Grasses, Sedges & Rushes, Oh My!

New Hope, Pennsylvania – Join Bill Olson, botanist and former Preserve staff member, for a daylong course on the grass, sedge and rush families. You will learn how to differentiate among these three families as well as learn to identify some of the common species.

The class will consist of a lecture with slides, a short field trip at the Preserve to identify plants in the field, and a lab session to observe the finer details of these plant families.

The "Grasses, Sedges & Rushes: Oh My!" class will be held at the Preserve Visitor Center on Saturday, August 12 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The program includes indoor and outdoor activities, so wear comfortable walking shoes and dress for the weather. Lunch is not provided in the program fee; please bring your own bag lunch.

The fee is $50 for non-members and $40 for Preserve members. Pre-registration required by Friday, August 11; call the Preserve at (215) 862-2924.
