Join in the New Children's Summer Reading
Series
New Hope, Pennsylvania - For the first time, Bowman's Hill
Wildflower Preserve presents "The 2003 Children's Summer
Reading Series". Parents and kids, ages 4 though 10,
are invited to join us for readings of exciting books about
the outdoors followed by a hike through the Preserve in search
of the plants and critters in the books. (Grandparents and
grandchildren, aunts/uncles and nieces/nephews are welcome
too!)
This new program is held at the Preserve Visitor Center every
Thursday from June 26 through August 21, 2003, rain or shine.
The program is held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. It begins
indoors with and ends on the trails, so wear comfortable walking
shoes and dress for the weather.
Members of Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve are admitted
free. Non-members are asked to make a donation for the price
of admission. Admission for non-members: Adults-$5, Seniors
(62+)-$3, Children 4 through 14-$2. To guarantee a place,
please pre-register, as space is limited. To pre-register,
call the Preserve at (215) 862-2924.
Through stories and activities on the trails, the groups
have explored seed transportation, insect appreciation, and
uses of trees, engaged in a butterfly hunt, and become nature
detectives.
