Wildflower Preserve Launches Newly Designed Website

New Hope, Pennsylvania - Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve proudly announces the launch of its newly designed website-www.bhwp.org. (Only the web address remains the same.) The Preserve has partnered with the talented Internet communications firm, Verve Internet Solutions of Philadelphia, to create a dynamic site that is visually pleasing, easy to navigate and chock full of valuable information.

According to Nancy Beaubaire, Director of Communications, "The new website reflects the beauty and uniqueness of Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, while putting high-quality educational information about native plants immediately in the hands of site visitors. With the new design and content, we hope to educate website visitors about the Preserve, provide them with a satisfying experience online, and encourage them to visit our grounds."

The homepage presents an inviting and lively face, with a changing photo gallery that showcases the spectacular flora of the Preserve and two timely features-- "What's in Bloom" and "What's New", the first highlighting what's currently flowering at the Preserve and the second focusing on noteworthy happenings.

The site enables visitors to find out all about the Preserve and its educational programs, memberships and donations, volunteer opportunities, and seed and plant sales. A virtual tour provides a taste of the Preserve's nearly 1000 species of Pennsylvania native wildflowers, trees, shrubs and ferns and its signature activities.

Easy access to some of the Preserve's most sought-after resources now are conveniently provided as downloadable files, including Seasonal Blooming Guides, Invasive Plants, Plant and Seed Sale catalogs, and Native Plant Information Sheets, which help gardeners select the right native plant for their landscape. Got a horticultural question? Check the FAQ's; if the question isn't answered there, you can directly e-mail the Preserve horticulturist or check out links to related sites.

Website users can easily find their way around the well-organized site via consistent navigation menus that appear in the same location on every page. Separate handy navigation menus for teachers/students, home gardeners and landscape professionals take each group to areas of the site targeted to their needs.

Special feature stories sprinkled throughout the site provide visitors with uniquely helpful or interesting information. The launch features the lore about Dr. John Bowman, a tale of pirates and treasures. Other periodically changing features bring web visitors profiles of members, of volunteers and of the diverse habitats of the Preserve.

Of course, there is no substitute for a walk among the wildflowers, and the website provides everything needed to plan a rewarding visit to the Preserve 100-acre property.

The Preserve is located at 1685 River Road (PA Rt. 32) about 2.5 miles south of New Hope, Pennsylvania and is open daily week year-round (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day). For more information, visit www.bhwp.org or call the Preserve at (215) 862-2924.
