A Tool for Site Evaluation and Restoration

The Plant Stewardship Index (PSI) is a tool specifically developed to evaluate the ecological integrity of native plant communities in the Piedmont region of Pennsylvania, and in New Jersey.

Based on the Floristic Quality Assessment Index (FQAI) methodology developed in Chicago for the assessment of prairie restoration projects, the PSI offers land managers and conservationists in Pennsylvania and New Jersey a standardized measurement of the effectiveness of land management practices over time.

Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve offers educational opportunities and professional services in support of the Plant Stewardship Index.

For more information, please contact the PSI Coordinator at (215) 862-2924 or psi@bhwp.org.
