Wings & Wildflowers Weekend

10 a.m. – 4 p.m.


Stop by the Preserve for a FREE admission Open House that focuses on pollinators and plants. This family-friendly event will include the unveiling of our butterfly trail, along with self-guided activities and an art project in the Visitor Center. Get a special behind-the-scen​es look at our Native Plant Nursery and help propagate plants for pollinators. Sweet Peas will be on hand with their yummy ice cream.  Bring your family, friends and neighbors – it’s a great day to be outside!

 

Schedule of events:  ALL START AT VISITOR CENTER or NATIVE PLANT NURSERY

-Make and Take Pollinator Garden: 10am-2pm  (fee based:  $8/$12)

-Behind the Scenes Nursery tours: 10:30am, 12:30pm, 2:30pm (Learn about the operations of our Native Plant Nursery. We clean, sow, and stratify native seeds, then pot and protect our plants as they grow.)  Help pot up a pollinator plant to take home to start your own garden.

 

-Enjoy the Butterfly Trail  (Ribbon Cutting at 10:15 am)

            Check out a Butterfly Trail Backpack (all day – limited/first come, first served)

            Self-guided walks/scavenger hike along the interpretive trail  (10-4)

 

-Guided Nature Walks: 11am, 1pm, 3pm.

 

- Sweet Peas Ice Cream truck starting at 11 am

 

-Art projects and self-guided activities at the Visitor Center(10-4)
